LG Top Loader Gearbox

LG Top Loader Gearbox / Clutch Assembly

This LG top loader gearbox and clutch assembly transfers the motor drive to the washing machine wash and spin mechanisms. It forms part of the transmission beneath the tub and is intended for selected compatible LG top-loading washers.

Wear inside the gearbox or damage to the clutch mechanism can prevent the machine from transferring drive correctly, even when the motor runs. Replacing a confirmed faulty assembly can restore the mechanical drive once related faults have been addressed.

Product Features

• Part type: Top-loading washing machine gearbox / clutch assembly
• For selected LG top-loader applications
• Mechanical transmission for the wash and spin drive system
• Shaft, splines, mounting plate and clutch linkage must match
• Select by the original assembly and complete appliance identification

Common Symptoms This Part May Fix

• Motor runs but wash or spin drive is not transferred correctly
• Grinding or abnormal mechanical noise traced to the gearbox
• Excessive shaft play or confirmed internal wear
• A damaged or sticking clutch mechanism confirmed during inspection

Important Diagnostic Note

Inspect the motor, belt and pulley, clutch/brake linkage, drain actuator and drum movement before replacing the assembly. A washer that will not spin may have a drainage, lid-switch or controller fault rather than a damaged gearbox.

Important Fitment Note

Match your complete LG model and the service-part number on the original gearbox where available. Compare shaft length, spline count, thread, pulley, mounting holes and clutch/brake arrangement. The model list is a guide: different production versions can use different transmissions.
