Defy Oven Bottom Bake Element – 2200W – 440 × 421mm
The Defy Oven Bottom Bake Element – 2200W is a replacement lower heating element designed for selected Defy ovens, stoves and cookers. It is installed beneath the oven floor or inside the lower section of the cooking cavity and supplies heat from below during baking and roasting.
This element is suitable for replacing an original bake element that has burnt out, developed an open circuit or no longer heats evenly. Restoring the lower heat source helps the oven reach and maintain the selected cooking temperature correctly.
Product Features
- Part type: Oven bottom bake element / lower heating element
- Power rating: 2200W
- Approximate overall width: 440mm
- Approximate overall depth: 421mm
- Approximate terminal spacing: 40mm
- Suitable for selected Defy ovens, stoves and cookers
- Provides heat from the lower section of the oven cavity
- Supports baking, roasting and general oven cooking
- Replacement for burnt, damaged or open-circuit elements
Common Symptoms This Part May Fix
- Oven not heating from the bottom
- Oven taking too long to reach temperature
- Food cooking on top but remaining undercooked underneath
- Poor baking or roasting performance
- Lower element not glowing or producing heat
- Element testing open circuit
- Visible cracking, blistering or burning on the element
- Oven tripping the electrical supply when the element is energised
- Uneven temperature inside the oven cavity
Important Diagnostic Note
An oven that does not heat from below does not automatically have a faulty bake element. The thermostat, selector switch, wiring, terminals, control board and electrical supply must also be inspected and tested.
Check the element for continuity and test for insulation leakage to earth before replacement.
Important Fitment Note
Before ordering, compare the 2200W rating, approximately 440mm width, 421mm depth, 40mm terminal spacing, element shape, mounting brackets and electrical terminals with the original component.
Similar-looking Defy bake elements may have different dimensions, wattages or mounting positions and are not automatically interchangeable.
Ensure that the terminals and wiring connectors are clean, tight and free from heat damage. Loose or burnt connections may cause arcing and premature element failure.
Disconnect the appliance from the electrical supply before removing or installing the element. Oven repairs should be performed by a suitably experienced technician.
