LG Fridge Defrost Element – 5300JB1050B

LG Fridge Defrost Element – 5300JB1050B

The LG 5300JB1050B defrost element warms the evaporator area during the automatic defrost cycle. By melting accumulated frost, it helps keep the evaporator air passages clear so cold air can circulate through a compatible fridge or fridge-freezer.

This shaped heater is a replacement for a failed defrost heating element. It is used across selected LG refrigerator applications; the correct part reference, heater shape and electrical specification matter more than a single model name.

Product Features

• Part reference: 5300JB1050B
• Part type: Refrigerator evaporator defrost heater / element
• Shaped heating element with connecting leads
• Fits selected LG refrigerator and fridge-freezer applications
• Heater only; defrost sensor, thermal protection device and controller are not included

Common Symptoms This Part May Fix

• Repeated heavy frost or ice build-up on the evaporator
• Restricted cold-air circulation caused by an iced-up evaporator
• A warm fridge compartment despite an operating compressor, when traced to a defrost failure
• An open-circuit or otherwise faulty heater confirmed by testing

Important Diagnostic Note

A blocked drain, failed defrost sensor, thermal fuse, timer or control board can also prevent normal defrosting. Door-seal leaks can introduce excess moisture. Have the defrost circuit checked so the failed component is identified before ordering.

Important Fitment Note

Confirm the 5300JB1050B reference against the full model and production suffix on the LG rating plate. Compare the heater width, shape, mounting points, lead length, connectors and electrical rating with the original. Do not bend or modify the element to fit a different application.
