Defy Upright Freezer Defrost Element – 465mm – 220V 320W
The Defy Upright Freezer Defrost Element – 465mm is a replacement heater designed for selected Defy frost-free upright freezers. It produces heat during the automatic defrost cycle to melt frost and ice that has accumulated around the evaporator.
By removing evaporator ice, the element helps maintain proper airflow and consistent cooling throughout the freezer cabinet. A failed defrost element may cause heavy ice buildup, restricted airflow and gradually reduced freezing performance.

Important Diagnostic Note
Ice buildup does not automatically indicate a faulty defrost element. The defrost thermostat, thermal fuse, temperature sensor, electronic control board, wiring and drain system must also be inspected and tested.
Test the original element for electrical continuity and inspect all series-connected safety components before installing the replacement.

Before ordering, compare the approximately 465mm element length, 220V 320W rating, tubular shape, terminal leads, insulation sleeves, mounting position and electrical connections with the original component.
Do not confuse this 465mm upright-freezer element with the shorter 320mm Defy fridge defrost element. Although they have a similar appearance and wattage, the different lengths mean they are not automatically interchangeable.
Ensure that the replacement element is positioned exactly as the original and does not contact plastic liners, loose wiring or other heat-sensitive components. Refit all mounting clips, shields and thermal safety devices correctly.
Disconnect the freezer from the electrical supply before installation.
